Through our connections with Mombasa Pwani Lions Club in Kenya, we help to fund Eye Sight projects which restores sight through cataracts removals as well as providing glasses, medicines and other treatments that are required. The project involves visiting a community to carry out screening of patients, those found in need of treatment are then transported to the Lions eye hospital in Mombasa. Following the operation they are returned to their communities just two days later, and given all of the aftercare they need. As these projects are funded by organisations such as The Newquay Lions Club it is made completely free of charge to the patients.
In 2014 we restored the sight to 32 patients living in Malindi between the ages of 32 and 86.
In 2015 we restored the sight of 20 patients living in Kilifi between the ages of 48 and 83.
