Newquay Lions Club celebrated the dedication and service of three of its long-standing members at its monthly meeting held at the Hotel Kilbirnie on 21st October.
The special presentations were made by Lions Clubs International District Governor 105SW Phil Bunt, who recognised the outstanding contribution made by Club President Andy Hannan, Treasurer Peter Bragg, and member Pauline Pappin.
Presenting the awards, SW District Governor Phil Bunt said:
“It was a real pleasure to recognise three outstanding members of Newquay Lions Club, each of whom has demonstrated the commitment, friendship and dedication to community service that lies at the very heart of Lions. Between them, Andy, Peter and Pauline have given more than 50 years of voluntary service, making a genuine difference to the lives of others.
Club President Andy has given over 25 years of remarkable service, while Treasurer Peter has been a dedicated and hardworking Lion for more than 15 years, during which time he has also served as the club’s President. Pauline has shown tremendous loyalty and commitment to her community throughout more than a decade of service.
All three thoroughly deserve this recognition, and I was delighted to present their awards personally.”
In addition to receiving his long-service award, Peter was also presented with a special Membership Achievement Award by Club President Andy in recognition of his outstanding efforts in introducing new members to the club. His dedication to growing Newquay Lions has helped strengthen the organisation and ensure it can continue serving the local community for many years to come.
The awards celebrate not only years of membership but also the significant impact each recipient has made through fundraising, community projects and supporting local people and organisations across Newquay and the surrounding area.
Members of Newquay Lions Club congratulated Andy, Peter and Pauline on their achievements and thanked them for their continued commitment to serving the local community.
Newquay Lions Club has been supporting local causes and community initiatives for over 50 years, raising funds for charities, assisting individuals and families in need, and organising events that bring people together.
